This is us!
Yardnajar, based in Buln Buln, Gippsland is the passion project of mother and daughter duo Lorraine and Amelia. Lorraine grew up on a farm in central Victoria, raised by parents who worked the land during the war. Where scarcity met ingenuity. Where you repaired, recycled and reclaimed things. You created for a purpose and a need. Amelia - third generation minimalist and horticulturist. Together - we are bee advocates and are inspired by the environment and how we interact with it.
Our purpose is to reconnect people with the simplicities of life and nature.
Yardnajar was formalised the moment a swarm of bees arrived on the property. We become fascinated by the intelligence of this natural system and of course the products of the hive! Through sharing our experiences with these amazing creatures we hope to inspire a greater respect for nature, and to enliven our interaction and treatment of it - for the better.
That's why we choose to use repurposed fabrics, naturally simple ingredients, minimal and recyclable & reusable packaging to make our footprint extremely small.
We create beeswax bags and wraps, lightweight drawstring produce bags, and a small range of body and bath products at Buln Buln. Our Happy Honey is an absolute treat and is seasonally available from the yard gate.
We look forward to sharing our yard with you.
